The Awapuni Function Centre is set amongst the beautiful park-like grounds of Palmerston North’s Awapuni Racecourse and offers expansive views of both the racecourse and Manawatu’s signature wind farms.
Centrally located with great access and free car parking the Awapuni Function Centre is purpose built to step up to any occasion. Whether you are organising a board meeting, management conference, training day or an event such as a dinner, product launch or a trade show we can accommodate it all.
We have 13 venues of all sizes under one roof, including a main plenary which seats 700, so the Creative Catering team can put together everything you need – from a simple room hire to a fully-serviced conference with AV, trade and catering and a quick change over for your Conference dinner.

The Awapuni Function Centre is unique in both its location and flexibility, giving the ultimate choice when it comes to a conference, meeting or an event. Our local contacts and knowledge will ensure all of your needs from AV to theming can be arranged though us.

We know that extra attention to detail makes the difference. With Creative Catering being the onsite caterers at the Awapuni Function Centre ensures the bookings of venues and services run seamlessly. You will have an experienced event co-ordinator assigned to you to make sure there is one point of contact at all times.
Our in-house executive chef, kitchen and catering team have the experience and knowledge to work with you on your specific requirements to produce a bespoke menu for the perfect event. They are experienced in creating dishes for all dietary requirements.
If your Conference needs extended exhibition space we have the ability to have a marquee constructed directly outside leading into the ground floor.

Our events team will work with you to create the perfect event, taking care of the finer details and the hard work, while allowing you to relax and look after the important business of the day.
The Awapuni Function Centre features:
• 13 fully furnished lounges situated over 2 levels and under one roof
• The Silks lounge is our premier venue and is situated on the 1st floor with access via stairs or a lift. Silks has its own sound system, dance floor, ceiling to floor curtains that cover the windows and can divide the venue up into 3 spaces. Leading into Silks are 3 smaller Lounges which are perfect for breakouts or catering space. An outdoor balcony with tables and chairs runs alongside all four lounges.

Our newly refurbished Wellfield Lounge is perfect for Cocktail parties and dinners with beautiful views over the Bird Cage. Creative Catering can also cater to your venue as we have a very experienced off site catering arm having catered to the Electra Business Awards for 350 people for the past three years plus many other events.
