The Bizzies Awards celebrate and recognise the individuals, organisations, and initiatives that drive outstanding outcomes across Aotearoa New Zealand's business events landscape.
Now in its second year, The Bizzies Awards continue to set the benchmark for professional achievement, acknowledging excellence across a diverse range of categories, including innovation, marketing, sustainability, emerging talent, leadership.
Open to nominees from across the wider business events ecosystem, the 2026 awards provide an opportunity to spotlight those making a meaningful impact on the industry. “We are proud to open nominations for The Bizzies Awards for 2026 and encourage the industry to recognise the exceptional work being delivered across our sector,” said Rachel Cook, Co-Chair. “From behind-the-scenes contributors to industry leaders, The Bizzies are about celebrating the people and teams who elevate business events and shape the future of our industry.”
The 2025 Queenstown summit, delivered by Destination Queenstown, won the Business Event Award for Legacy Impact and the Excellence in Environmental Sustainability Award at the inaugural Bizzies.
Mat Woods, chief executive of Destination Queenstown and Lake Wānaka Tourism said winning the two awards was powerful recognition and incredible encouragement for the Electrify Queenstown team. “It reinforced that the conversations we are having around electrification, resilience and energy innovation are resonating well beyond our region". “The recognition also gave the team confidence to think even bigger for 2026. This year's event, running from 17-19 May, is our most ambitious programme yet, with a packed line-up of speakers, practical sessions, community events, and landmark political debate, featuring leading government ministers and political party leaders.

Nominations are open to both members and non-members of Business Events Industry Aotearoa (BEIA), from all sectors of the business events industry, including professional conference organisers, venues, destinations, suppliers, agencies, and event professionals. Self-nominations are welcomed, and peers are encouraged to nominate colleagues and collaborators who deserve recognition.
Winners will be announced at the The Bizzies Awards 2026 ceremony, to be held on Wednesday 28 October 2026 at Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre bringing together industry leaders and professionals for an evening of celebration and connection.
