NZICC opening in February 2026

The New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) is set to welcome the world, officially opening its doors in February 2026.

Located in the heart of Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland’s CBD, the NZICC will seamlessly connect visitors with the best of local dining, accommodation, Aotearoa New Zealand culture, and the Auckland business community.

These connections were recently on full display at AIME 2025 where the NZICC hosted the hosted buyer lunch on day one, where Executive Chef, Rob Cullen served up an exclusive first taste of the NZICC, utilising fresh and delicious Kiwi produce from local Kiwi suppliers.

“The opportunity to bring the essence of New Zealand on a plate and start to share our culinary identity with the world was an opportunity we couldn’t miss,” says Cullen.

“We are dedicated to sustainability and supporting local.  Sustainability isn’t just a tagline—it’s a responsibility,” Cullen emphasises. “From working towards a zero-waste kitchen to whole animal purchasing and full ingredient traceability, every step reflects our commitment to ethical sourcing and environmental care. It builds trust with our guests and celebrates what New Zealand has to offer.”

Also providing afternoon tea on the Tourism New Zealand stand which included the quintessential Kiwi ‘cheese roll’, Chef Rob showed that authentic Kiwi culinary delights will be available through the full NZICC menu.  We have it on good authority that the cheese rolls were one of the highlights of AIME 2025.

The countdown to February 2026 is on and the team can’t wait to see you!
