Te Haeata | New Zealand Certificate in Business Events (Level 4)

BEIA are proud to launch Te Haeata, a collaborative effort between BEIA, ServiceIQ, NZQA and Grow Tourism. 
Meaning “the Beam of Light”, a name that reflects both guidance and aspiration, supporting people as they enter or progress in the business events sector and encouraging ongoing growth in skills, knowledge and experience.  
Aligned with Piata Mai (To Shine Bright) Te Haeata is part of the sector's shared story to build a thriving industry with flourishing people. 
 

Help your team step up in the business events sector. This qualification builds people who can contribute to planning, project management and delivery of events in Aotearoa New Zealand, creating quality customer experiences and recognising the role of sustainable, regenerative practice. Learners apply their understanding of the industry to support and deliver events across different organisations, building practical capability they can use on-the-job, whether venue, corporate, tourism or council settings.

  • Understand industry structure, roles and planning fundamentals for business events.
  • Contribute to event plans and develop effective systems, processes and procedures.
  • Apply product knowledge, sales support and relationship management to deliver great customer experiences.
  • Support operations and delivery, respond to the unexpected, and evaluate outcomes.
  • Use strong self-management, teamwork, communication and professionalism on every event.
  • Embed sustainable and regenerative practices appropriate to Aotearoa’s visitor economy.
  • Pathways into higher-level business events or business qualifications.
  • Roles include events coordinator, venue sales coordinator, PCO support, and more.

Important Information:
  • The New Zealand Certificate in Business Events will cost $500 + GST per learner. On completion of the course the learner would have achieved 60 credits with NZQA and could take around 12 months to complete.
  • Your enrolment, qualification and assessment will be managed solely by ServiceIQ. To enrol in Te Haeata, or find out more information, please complete the ‘Contact Us’ form and one of the ServiceIQ Customer Experience Team will be in touch with your enrolment pack and programme schedule.  
  • Te Haeata certificate will be delivered via on-the-job training and accessible online learning, equipping learners with both hands-on experience and essential theoretical knowledge. Each Learner will need to have a Workplace Verifier. Workplace verifiers are people who work closely with a trainee in the workplace. Their role allows them to see or hear trainees at work and confirm their skills and/or knowledge and therefore know and verify that someone is competent.
