Christchurch Airport is the natural gateway to the South Island, which has long been the engine room of New Zealand’s international visitor brand. It is the busiest and most strategic southern air connection to the world's trade and tourism markets.

Ours is the only airport in the South Island capable of handling all aircraft types operating in global aviation today, in particular wide body international and military aircraft. Each year, we manage about 6million passengers and around 26,000 tonnes of international airfreight.

Around two-thirds of Christchurch’s international passengers are international visitors to the South Island and New Zealand.
