BE Mentored Programme

Since 2014, BEIA has been running the Mentorship Programme, a result of feedback from membership and conversations with the key industry personnel. The programme offers the Mentees the opportunity to develop their careers, build valuable relationships and broaden their experience within our industry. Mentors get the benefit of working with their Mentees and find significant personal and professional growth.

About the Programme

Mentoring is the way to tap into the existing knowledge, skills, and experience of leaders within our industry.

It can be defined as:

“The developmental partnership through which one person shares knowledge, skills, information and perspective to foster the personal and professional growth of someone else”.

There are endless possibilities for creating a rewarding and successful career within the Business Events industry, but the "what" and "how" is not always obvious. Skilled Mentors will get to know Mentees, understand strengths, share insights and experiences to help navigate a development plan and career path.

Participation in the BE Mentored Programme offers the unique opportunity to form strong and lasting relationships.

  • BE Mentored Launch - March 2026
  • BE Mentored Sessions - March 2026 to October 2026
Self-paced mentoring sessions either face to face, or online.
  • BE Mentored Wrap Up Event - October 2026
At this event, both Mentors and Mentees will come together at New Zealand’s premier business events conference and celebrate success.

“The BE Mentored program was an experience I genuinely valued. It went beyond professional development and created a supportive space to connect with others at similar stages of their careers and mentors who have a vast experience in our industry. BEIA did a fantastic job matching me with a mentor who aligned with my goals and aspirations. During sessions, the ability to speak openly about challenges was incredibly reassuring, and the guidance shared by the mentors helped me see those challenges not as obstacles, but as opportunities for growth.”
