Rotorua Conference Venues

Being home to multiple conference venues and meeting  spaces – including one of New Zealand’s largest – and having more than 13,000 beds, means Rotorua is a small regional city with big city facilities.

Rotorua is connected by air to all major cities and is no more than three hours’ drive to more than half of New Zealand’s population, including Auckland.

All these factors can make navigating our various venues and accommodation providers, plus dining options and off-site activities, a bit daunting, so our team of event specialists is here to help and work with you to create a successful event. They're happy to organise site visits, obtain quotes on your behalf, and tailor destination proposals based on your requirements. Best of all, their service is free and impartial.

We’re all about showcasing our incredible natural surroundings. There's a venue in Rotorua suitable for nearly any group size can be found in a geothermal valley, under the canopy of the giant redwoods in Whakarewarewa Forest, alongside a lake, on top a mountaintop, inside a rustic hilltop barn overlooking Mount Tarawera, and more.

If the ease of the city centre is what you’re after, options range from several hotel boardrooms and conference facilities – including the 5-star Pullman Rotorua – to our largest venue, Rotorua Energy Events Centre (EEC), a purpose-built convention centre with a 4,000-seat plenary.

Rotorua also has an array of accommodation options ranging from 5-star, historic and boutique hotels, to those that are lakeside, overlook geothermal hot pools, are near Whakarewarewa Forest, or at one of our secluded luxury lodges.

Pro tip: there are nine hotels within a 10-minute walk to the city centre.

Nau Mai, Haere Mai | Welcome to our Home

Rotorua boasts some of the country’s most iconic natural attractions and experiences: geothermal wonders, magical forests with hundreds of kilometres of mountain biking trails, and a plethora of natural hot springs and spas.

Rotorua is connected by air to all major cities and is no more than three hours’ drive to more than half of New Zealand’s population, including Auckland. With all the essentials required for your next event to run smoothly, Rotorua is also a centre for New Zealand’s Māori culture offering genuine warmth and manaakitanga (hospitality), something that Te Arawa have been providing visitors for more than 150 years.

Nestled on the shores of Lake Rotorua, the district’s geothermal features have created unique, otherworldly landscapes. Explore bubbling and steaming geothermal reserves, take in the volcanic craters, explore ancient forests or one of 18 sparkling lakes. Rotorua offers hundreds of kilometres of mountain biking trails, world-class golf courses, as well as a plethora of natural hot springs and spas. These incredible, surreal places will leave your delegates in awe and provide the most amazing backdrop for their photography.

The manaakitanga (hospitality) and the welcoming spirit of our people make Rotorua the best place to connect with indigenous Māori people and learn about our culture, traditions and beliefs. Welcome your delegates with a pōhiri (traditional welcoming ceremony), learn to dance with poi or perform the haka, or feast on a traditional hangi. Whichever experience you choose will leave your delegates richer.

Any time is a great time to visit Rotorua.  The welcoming spirit of our people is found nowhere else. They’ve been carrying the guiding torch of their forebears for more than a century. In fact, many of whom are direct descendants of Aotearoa’s first tourism guides.

Our community of tourism, hospitality and events experts happily come together to make your event a success, even if it means working alongside competitors. They’re focused on the best outcome for Rotorua and want to ensure your delegates have the best experience possible.
